"Tasca La Venta de la Esquina (Verdict: Got Potatoes) As you all know, I’m allergic to potatoes. IT’S SO DIFFICULT NOT GETTING POTATOES IN THIS COUNTRY. They forgot to remove the potatoes from the fish dish. BUT.. on a positive note, so far one of the best tasting meals we've had so far! 100% home cooked taste. Strolling around San Cristóbal de la Laguna we came across a very limited amount of opened restaurants. Most are closed on Monday's. So not so many to chose from. Luckily.. We struck gold!!! Ordered mussels with this sick cilantro sauce, bacalao en cebollado, few croquetas de jamon and garlic shrimp. Everything tasted amazing!!! Plus several glasses of vino for moi, of course. -). We loved it! A cozy corner in the historic center that preserves its traditional flavor. Good wines, tapas and assorted pinchos. Un acogedor rincón en el mismo centro histórico que conserva su sabor tradicional. Buenos vinos, tapas y pinchos variados."

"This place was recommended to us by locals. The venue is nicely decorated but offers limited seating. It is connected to the Cafeteria Venice next door. The food is excellent and served by very nice and friendly staff."

"We had drinks here. The bar tenders are brilliant, really take pride in pouring a great spirit. I tried a few gins here and hubbie the whiskeys. There is also a tap room for beers. A lovely bar to reach down a corridor between two little shops. Good music and vibe. Has a courtyard with barrels for tables"

"Brilliant, lively tapas bar. Excellent iberico ham and cod with chickpeas (all locals were eating this). Was recommended to us by our hotel after we asked for good, local, non touristy place and it delivered."

"Tried different tapas and they were delicious. I would back again to try more dishes. Service could be improved- they not always could bring us the right beer. But in general all is good."
